WEEK 10: Buckeyes

First, enjoy every play of this game without any commercials or the halftime break!

While we here at Sedge’s Game Notes thought the Hawks could indeed beat Ohio State, it was more along the lines of a last second field goal or td, not a woodshed pile driving beat down that is was.  And it was glorious!

That leaves the Hawks bowl eligible (again), confirms that indeed, Iowa teams can hit full stride come November, and has the Badgers on notice as the Hawks head east this weekend.

But more about the Badgers later.

Let’s lead off with the Iowa offense this week.  Against what many consider a mini NFL front, the Iowa O line gave up one single sack, and that on a play where Nate kind of stepped forward, probably wanting to run the ball, but got tripped up.  A huge effort by the O line that propelled the entire Iowa offense.

Nate, 20 for 31, for 226 yards, with 5! td passes, and no turnovers.  He now has 22 td passes on the season, 5 short of Chuck Long’s school record 27.  This would be a  good week to tie the record Nate.  Oh,  and Nate also had a 47 yard pooch punt, but it should have been about 43, which would have pinned OSU inside their 3 yard line.  Nate is your Big 10 Offensive Player of the Week.
