 Week 5: Mildcats

So the Hawks have now lost the last two games played in Kinnick. Generally you would think that if the Iowa offense could put up 31 points we would be ok, but that was not the case last week.

Again, too many rushing yards allowed.  The Outlaw had 16 tackles, but he can’t do it all himself.  Likewise King, who was not covering Carr on any of his 3 touchdown receptions.  That is more on the Iowa coaches, who are not using him across the field as a true shutdown corner should be used.

And the defense needs to also tackle.  On one of the Mildcats touchdowns, the Iowa defender just bounced of their tight end at the 10 yard line, and he walked into the end zone.  No attempt to wrap up and drop made by the defender.
