TES -Friday October 4th

We are quite happy at TES today.  The Dodgers are up 1 zip on the Braves after a less-than-usual but still dominant performance by Koufax/light, and the Caps rebounded from a 0-3 hole to take down the Flames in OT!  And tomorrow is another Hawkeye game day, with Sparty coming to Kinnick. Classic Big Ten will be on display, leave the women and children at home.

Week 5: The Golden Rodents

Living as your scribe does in the college football wasteland of New York, we missed all of the Hawkeye pregame on ESPN2, and in fact didn’t get the game on our tvs until the 8:53 mark of the 1st quarter.  What did we miss:

The rain had moved on but a cloudy, overcast day had greeted the players as they took the field.  The Hawks won the toss and took the ball, and started at their 16 after Cotton got tripped up on his kick return.

Both teams were going to run it, and we were up first.

Mark starts it off and he goes for 10 on his first carry.  Warmed up, he is.

This drive would total 9 plays, but die at the Rodent 47, as Kornbrath came in and downed the punt at the Rodent 9 yard line.
