The Eternal Season - Friday September 16th

Good Afternoon TES Friends!

Friday afternoon!!!  We can almost taste it!

And for Hawkeye fans here in Gotham, the weekend brings us not one, but two chances to watch the Hawkeyes. And tonight, it's in the flesh, right here in New York City!

The Iowa volleyball team is here to take part in the Columbia Invitational, and tonight they face the hosts at 7:30.  The team has already won their first match, sweeping St. Francis 25-19 and 25-21.  If you wish to attend tonight, see the link below for the site info.

Two Hawk watches within 24 hours!  Noon tomorrow, (ESPN2) the football team looks to take out their frustrations on a Pitt team that has a new coach, new offense, new defense, and hasn't really played anyone of substance.  That kicks off a good day of college football, leading up to the Oklahoma/Florida State showdown on ABC at 8:00 pm.

And then, Sunday, and more football.  As if that wasn't enough, over the weekend, NHL teams open up their training camps (the rookies have already been in camp, you may have seen some games, that's who was playing).  The hockey season opens on October 6th.  Go Caps!!!

And not much longer after that, the college hoops season gets rolling.  Two days ago, huge news out of Sioux City, when 7+ foot center Adam Woodbury announced that he would become an Iowa Hawkeye in 2012.  Who did we beat for him?  Ohio State, Wisconsin, and oh, North Carolina, his other finalist with Iowa.  Our time is coming - Iowa Basketball will be back!  The Iowa hoops season kicks off in 56 days - and counting.

That's it for today my friends, have a few things to do before heading across town to watch the Hawks.  I hope you have an enjoyable Friday night and Saturday, TES will be back on Sunday.  Until then, have a good one!
