Good Morning Friends!
Headed upstate later today, so found time to get TES going for Friday from the home office. Being as I will be busy tomorrow, your new Hawkeye Football video is here today. QB Jake Rudock, out of Florida.
Jake is one of the jewels of this fall's class, and has a good shot to be the Hawkeye QB of the future.
What a night in the NBA Finals! Dallas was down 15 with about 7 minutes left, and the Miami players were getting a bit too cocky about it going into a timeout; the Mavs players thought they were being shown up. They responded by allowing the Heat only 1 field goal in those last 7 minutes, and with the game tied at 93, Dirk took it to the hole and laid it up with his (injured) left hand. It dropped, giving the Mavs the 95-93 win, and tied the series at a game all. Game 3 is Sunday night at 8:00, on ABC.
No hockey yesterday, none today. The hockey news was concerning the biting incident from game 1, but the video evidence was not conclusive, so the expected suspension was not handed down. Players have another day to formulate a response, as they don't drop the puck on game 2 until 8:00 Saturday, on NBC. The as yet unnamed Winnipeg team has already sold 4,000 tickets for next season, I don't think the attendance problems they had in Atlanta will be a problem back in Canada.
On the diamond, the highlight of the light day in baseball goes to the Giants Aubrey Huff, who belted 3 home runs with 6 rbi in the San Fran win over the Red Birds. The Dodgers face the Reds tonight, looking to start the climb back to .500 again. 15 games are on the slate, and the weather is looking good for all them - a little baseball watching is a good way to kick off the weekend!
In Paris, Nadal is up a set and level in the 2nd as he battles Murray for the 1st slot in the French Open final. It will be Federer v. Djokovic for the other spot. NBC has coverage.
All right, I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead! Enjoy it!!!
