Last Week: Illinois
With a little execution, some luck, and a healthy does of Zook coaching, the Beer Song did indeed appear, and I even caught a fair number of Wildcat fans singing right along!

First, the defense.  Illinois came in averaging 30 points per and could just manage 2 field goals.  Humpal is your Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his 18 tackle, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and recovered fumble effort (and now FWAA National Defensive Player of the Week as well).  The Illini rushed for 137 yards but that was about half what they had been getting so far this year.  Juice could only pass for 98 yards and rush for 41, and in one of the Zook mind benders, benched him after his early 4th quarter fumble.  Yup, the Hawks (Shada) got lucky on that long td bomb – I believe it was the same tight end call that took the td to Chandler off the board in the Texas game. Yet it was a penalty and the Hawk defense has now completed four games without giving up a td.
